  • approximately 2ft. 6in. by 4ft. and 2ft. 4in. by 4ft. 3in. (0.76 by 1.22m. and 0.71 by 1.29m.) (2)

Condition

2ft. 6in. by 4ft. : Pile ranges from approximately 1/10 of an inch to low to knotheads and spot foundation. Scattered moth damage, the largest area being 2 cm by 1 cm in lower end. Very small 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch reweave around center. Two similar sized reweaves in lower section of field. Scattered foldwear and spot stains. Small holes of various sizes in lower end, the largest being approximately 1 inch by 1 inch. Another small hole in upper end. 1 inch slit into tip of top. Large pinhole in upper right corner of field. Flatwoven ends folded under and sewn- sewing now loose in areas. Losses to selvages and also missing a few rows of knots on both sides. Largest nick out of lower left corner, approximately 2 inches by 1/2 inch. Supple handle, lustrous wool, will enhance with cleaning and restoration to sides. 2ft. 4in. by 4ft. 3in. : Pile ranges from approximately 1/10 of an inch to low to knotheads, mostly in side borders. Some minor scattered foldwear. Lower end folded under and sewn with original polychrome flatweave. Upper end flatwoven finish folded under and sewn, now with some losses, the largest being approximately 2 inches by 1/2 inch on left side of top. Sides with losses to later overcasting. Lustrous wool, flexible handle, minor scattered spot stains.
