Description

  • 157cm. high, 98cm. wide, 47cm. deep; 5ft. 1¾in., 3ft. 2½in., 1ft. 6½in.
the shaped interior of architectural form, with fourteen drawers including three `secret' drawers, with a pair of cupboard doors below enclosing a shelf 

Provenance

Sir Charles Henry Tempest, 1st Bt. (1834 - 1894), thence by descent to Ethel Mary Tempest (1869 - 1937) who married Miles Stapleton, 10th Lord Beaumont (1850 - 1895) thence by descent.

Condition

Some losses to veneers throughout particularly around the frieze drawer. The top is badly stained and may well have originally had a marble slab. There are losses to gilt bronze mounts. The flap has age cracks. Both lower corners are chipped. The columns are both loose and badly fitting, one is detached. The lower doors are cracked and slightly warped with some losses to mouldings. Decorative but will require workshop attention.
