  • 21.5cm; 8½in
modelled by Johann Christoph Haselmeyer, seated on a rocky mound, the shepherd holding a mandolin, a dog and lamb at their side (restoration and chips)

Provenance

Probably Sir Charles Henry Tempest, 1st Bt. (1834 - 1894), thence by descent to Ethel Mary Tempest (1869 - 1937) who married Miles Stapleton, 10th Lord Beaumont (1850 - 1895) thence by descent.

Condition

Shepherd - left hand lacking. Minor chips to hat and bow in hair. Shepherdess - left arm broken off at elbow and missing. End of mandolin lacking. End of left foot lacking. Lamb - right ear lacking. Dog - completely restored. Some chips to branches.
