Condition

The upholstery as can be seen from the photographs is in very distressed condition. The frame is in good condition althought the gilding is worn and chipped in places and may need to be re-gilded according to taste. The top rail is cracked adjacent to the join with the uprights and has been crudely touched up with gold paint to conceal the cracks. The ribbon in the centre-rail has been chipped and crudely restored. The sofa will be a very attractive piece once re -upholstered and restored.
