of canted form, with a drawer above a door enclosing a fitted interior with two long and five short drawers
Provenance
Sir Charles Henry Tempest, 1st Bt. (1834 - 1894), thence by descent to Ethel Mary Tempest (1869 - 1937) who married Miles Stapleton, 10th Lord Beaumont (1850 - 1895) thence by descent.

Condition
Good general condition. Some sections of moulding missing on drawer fronts and at top of the capitals as can be seen in catalogue photograph. There is a female mask mount missing above the door. There are patches to the rosewood veneers on the sides and restored vertical cracks. Veneer sections missing from the left side and also losses around bottom edge of cabinet. There are hairline cracks in the veneer which do not detract from the piece. The ebonised stand also has hairline age cracks.
