Catalogue Note

The Irish-born Warden (1788-1845) was American consul at Paris for over forty years. He amassed two large libraries of Americana, one of which was acquired by Harvard in 1823. These various reports were sent by Warden to his publisher, presumably to supplement his Statistical, Political, and Historical Account of the United States of North America, 3 vols, Constable, 1819, but they were not printed in that work.
