Description

  • An essay towards a topographical history of the county of Norfolk [with the continuation by Charles Parkin]. London: W. Bulmer and Co. for William Miller, 1805-1810
Large paper copy, 11 volumes, 4to (299 x 227mm.), engraved frontispiece portrait, engraved and woodcut illustrations, 17 letterpress tables, mostly genealogical (some folding), 36 engraved plates (8 folding), including plan of Norwich with facing letterpress explanatory table, contemporary speckled calf gilt, spines gilt in compartments with red and green morocco lettering-pieces, marbled edges, paper slightly browned and brittle in volumes 1-3, a few small marginal tears, small hole in Tt1 of vol.7 and 3N2 of volume 8 with slight loss, some plates spotted, some joints weak, a few scrapes on covers
