Description

ouvrant à deux battants, à l'intérieur Amida assis en méditation sur une base lotiforme étagée finement sculptée, le kanamono doré et incisé de rinceaux feuillagés

Condition

Some oxide and wear to the gilding to the Buddha and lotus base inside which are otherwise quite dusty (visible on the photograph). The flower and circle halo behind the figure are made of two separate elements that can detach. The Buddha can also detach from its base. The circle is detached from the flower and needs to be reglued. Some wear to the gilding to the inside back of the box, consistent with age. Flakes and cracks to the black lacquer on the roof of the shrine which needs to be stabilized (showing on the photo). Some section of the black lacquer have flaked off on the roof top, around and to the back of the box. A few dents to the lacquer to the exterior of the box and to the edge of the rounded square base. Light Verdi Gris oxide to the gilt metal mounts that can clean. Would benefit from a professional restoration.
