Condition

Good condition. Expected wear and light scratches inside. Some scratches outside of varying depth and length (two resulting in tiny losses to the yellow glaze).

The present bowl is notable for its large size; see a closely related example, from the Norton Collection, sold in our London rooms, 5th November 1963, lot 175. A slightly smaller example (19.8cm) in the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, Stockholm, is illustrated in Oriental Ceramics. The World's Great Collections, vol. 8, Tokyo, 1982, pl. 191; and another was sold in our London rooms, 10th June 1997, lot 40.
