Collection particulière française, acquis à Shanghaï par l'oncle de l'actuel propriétaire entre 1903 et 1936.

The largest one is in overall good condition with the exception of a chip to the back of the figure by the base rim (2 x 5 cm), another old horizontal chip (0.8 mm x approx 6 cm) to the base rim to the rear left below the arm holding a veil. Some expected pitted in areas (behind the figures on his shoulders, to the right of his stomach, to the edge rim of the lotus base), consistent with age. The smaller budai with some age wear visible on the photo. Two cracks behind (below its left arm and extending towards the middle of its back, another crack 10 cm beneath). Another crack in the front on its chest below his left ear (showing on the catalogue illustration). A 5 cm shallow bump behind his upper right shoulder with associated loss of lacquer, another area worn with losses to the lacquer 4 cm by the lower base rim.
