The combination of overlay and sandwiched glass with aventurine is very rare. Several examples of aventurine-glass bottles are illustrated in Moss, Graham, Tsang, A Treasury of Chinese Snuff Bottles, Vol. 5 Part 1, Glass, no. 717 to 720 ; other with the Qianlong Mark are illustrated in Snuff Bottles in the Collection of the National Palace Museum, Taipei, no.249 and 251.
