Catalogue Note
A snuffle bottle called 'sediment vase', with a comparable darker base is illustrated in S. Marchant and Son, 75th Anniversary Exhibition of Post Archaic Chinese Jades from Private Collections, November 2000.
The present bottle very well hollowed and with a fine carved oval foot has the same slightly compressed pear shape than other examples from the Master of the Rocks School.
