Condition
Colours less strident in reality, and warmer and more attractive hues overall. More defined and crisper appearance in reality. Ground largely visible in central section is a warmer beige colour, and not as light as in the photograph. There are areas to this ground, which have been repaired, and there are some stains, and small holes between the embroidered design in scattered areas. Repairs to ground visible to top of arch in particular. Centre horizontal borders with vertical line of repair, metal threads couched down in areas (old fold wear). Embroidery overall very good condition and very finely worked. Extensive use of silver thread (around white and yellow silk core threads), metal tarnished. Recently re-backed and stretched.
