of rectangular form, the surface top decorated with mother-of-pearl and tortoiseshell inlay in a pattern of interlacing geometry with central stellar medallion, bordered by a band of inlaid ivory and ebony with mother-of-pearl cartouches, the sides decorated with panels of similar design in mother-of-pearl and ebony, the interior housing six drawers with ivory handles
