Description

the watered-steel blade with gold-overlaid inscription and palmette decoration, the gilt forte comprising palmettes and rosettes with abstract foliate motifs, metal hilt with gilt floral decoration throughout, with velvet-covered wood scabbard with en suite florally engraved lock and chape, the lock with an applied pierced silver-gilt mount, chape terminating in the form of a dragon's head with gem-set eyes

Condition

overall in good condition. the blade and the inscription is in excellent condition, with almost no rubbing or scratches to the gold overlay, some losses to hilt gilding, later restored velvet to scabbard, minor rubbing to scabbard decoration, as viewed.
