Condition

Canvas is not lined (a small patch at lower right). SURFACE: in original condition (except for little patch); craquelure throughout (with cupping--looks pretty stable for the most part, except for an area at lower left (about 5 by 2 in.--in water) where there is flaking; a few areas where there is pigment separation, at lower left and at center; a few scattered tears--largest is at lower right (diagonal, about 2 in. long), a smaller one (about 3/4 in. at lower left--in water, above boat at left), another, about 1/2 in. long, just above area that's flaking (mentioned above) some residual loss around this one and finally, one at lowe right (smallest--patch is behind this one; dirty varnish--surface needs a cleaning UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: no apparent inpainting
