Condition

Canvas is not lined. SURFACE: in generally good condition; dirty, shiny varnish; craquelure throughout (seems stable); a few discolorations in sky suggest old repaints UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: there are defintely small, scattered repaints in sky, although they're difficult to make out, as is any inpainting in general; hard to see through varnish and darker pigments; some pigments appear to be active still

Catalogue Note

Albert Husson (1853-1928) was a popular doctor and local personality in the town of Offranville, near Dieppe.  He had a number of artists as his patients, among them, Jacques Emile Blanche.  His home still exists in Offranville on Docteur Husson Street and continues to be inhabited by a doctor. 
This painting will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of Edward Redfield's work being compiled by Dr. Thomas Folk.
