kibango ; l'importance de l'emblème royal signifiée par le personnage féminin en ronde bosse assis au sommet - les mains posées sous la poitrine -, et par les motifs ornant chaque face des palettes dibulu - celle inférieure sculptée en bas reliefs de cornes d'antilope duiker. A la dignité de la pose répond la grande maîtrise de la sculpture, amplifiée par la concentration des formes et des lignes. Elle a conservé sa pointe en fer, servant à la ficher dans le sol. Très belle patine nuancée, brune, profonde.

cf. Cornet (1978 : 262) pour une canne cérémonielle stylistiquement comparable dans la collection Bronson, attribuée par l'auteur aux Luba septentrionaux.
Les cannes cérémonielles constituaient pour les Luba non seulement des objets de prestige et les insignes majeurs de l'autorité royale – notamment par l'histoire relatée par leur iconographie – mais également des réceptacles du pouvoir sacré. La représentation des cornes d'antilope duiker sur la palette inférieure serait la très « probable allusion aux capacités curatives [de cette canne cérémonielle] ; en effet, les docteurs Luba utilisaient des petites cornes pour contenir les médecines » (Nooter-Roberts et Roberts, 1996 : 163).
