L'archaïsme de cette statue kandimboang - accentuation des masses musculaires et des points de rupture, asymétrie de la pose, volumes épannelés - est renforcé par la patine sombre, grumeleuse. Elle a conservé son pagne en tissu et porte, à l'arrière de la tête, inscrit à l'encre blanche, son numéro d'inventaire - partiellement effacé - dans la collection Haug : 61557. Sepik, Slg. Haug.

Condition
Good condition overall. Wear consistent with age and use within the culture. A stabilized hairline crack along the left part of the face. Chips on the beard, as evident in the catalogue illustration.
