kalukili, de très belle dimension, le cuilleron piriforme soutenu par un manche scindé en deux montants arqués ouvragés, la forme jouant sur les volumes stylisés du corps humain. Patine crème laissant apparaître la veinure de l'ivoire.

Condition

Good condition overall. Wear consistent with age and use within the culture. A tiny chip at the right end of the handle summit.

Les cuillers kalukili étaient utilisées dans le cadre de la société du Bwami et intervenaient dans les danses, portées sur l'épaule, caressées, ou encore utilisées occasionnellement pour nourrir un masque dans le rite nkunda (Biebuyck, 2002 : 196).
