Catalogue Note
Cf. Alison French, Seeing the Centre, the Art of Albert Namatjira, Canberra: National Gallery of Australia, 2002, pp.140 - 141, for two similar examples both dating from 1955. The gallery label on the reverse dates this painting as circa 1948, though in our opinion it is more likely to date from the mid 1950s
