Louba d'Astier.

Datée de Fourques (Gard), du premier jour de l'année 1946, Hugo décrit sa mélancolie en l'absence de Louba Krassine. "Darling, I couldn't write to you for Christmas, but I want to begin the new year with you. I have been thinking of you all the time, and everything here reminds me of you. Everything is exactly like last year, the irises, the jasmin, the wintersweet, except that you are not here. There is the stove in the drawing room and in the evening I look at the striped sofa, and you are so present that it is painful". Il dessine en une jolie gouache le paysage environnant, vignes et oliviers du Gard. Jean Hugo fut vraisemblement très amoureux de Louba Krassine (voir lots n° 19 & 21 à 25) au début des années 30 et garda pour elle une tendresse fidèle, d'autant plus que Frosca Munster, son grand amour, était la meilleure amie de Louba (voir le lot 88).
