Old minor marks, chips and scratches and very minor restorations to the veneer which are hardly noticeable. The escutcheon mounts have been painted with gilt paint and the rest of the mounts are dirty and the gilding worn. There are some hairline splits in the veneer which have been restored, however the veneer on the right side which is warped slightly has not been well restored and would benefit from a more sympathetic restoration. There are a couple of hairline cracks on the base of the left side which can either be left or filled. In otherwise good original condition and can be placed immediately.

Although Piedmontese bureau plat are often recorded, it is rare to find one with a kneehole.
