  • Portrait of Carlo Felice, King of Sardinia (1765-1831)
  • watercolour and bodycolour on ivory, inset into a gold mounted tortoise shell box, marked with the Paris control for gold (750) and the grosse garantie for 1819-38

  • 4 cm. diam.; 1½ in.
circa 1825, wearing uniform of Savoy, and amongst others the Orders of the Gold Fleece, the Annunciation and Saint Maurice and St. Lazarus  



 

Condition

The miniature is in good condition. There are several tiny pieces of paint that have become detached from the surface. However, these losses can barely be seen even under magnification.
