An Italian ivory inlaid walnut, fruitwood, marquetry and parquetry writing box, Piedmontese late 18th century

the top centred by a profile medallion surmounted by a Crown,  the inside of the lid with a hinged cover revealing a later damask lined interior, the lower section with another hinged  flap enclosing two secret drawers flanked by three further lidded compartments on later feet 

Some minor chips to the veneer. The hinged lid inside the cover is warped and has a horizontal crack which can be filled. The other hinged lid and covers for the recesses in the base are warped. All the hinges and pull-handles look replaced. In otherwise good condition.
