Evidence of old very minor worm which appears to be no longer active. Very attractive detail to carving. Some very minor chips to the decoration. There are some hairline construction cracks and other construction cracks commensurate with age, but these do not detract from the piece and can be left. Both vases have their socles restored. The floral swags on the apron have been strengthened at the back. There is a very minor section of glass missing at the base of the side. In overall good conserved condition.

G. Ferraris, Giuseppe Maria Bonzanigo e la scultura decorativa in legno a Torino nel periodo neoclassico (1770-1830), Cavallermaggiore, 1991p. 149, plates  CXXXVI, p. 1501, plate CXLI. The crisp carving, pastel shades, floral swags, flaming urns and stylised scallopshells on this very refined piece are very much in the manner of Bonzanigo, and may well have been executed by one of his circle  Francesco Bozzelli. See for example, the stylised scallopshells on the doors of the camera di parata of the Duchess d'Aosta on the first  floor of Palazzo Reale,Turin. Also see the same author, op. cit., p. 151, plate CXLVI, for a trumeau with a floral swag carved in a similar vein to that on this piece.
