Catalogue Note
The original wax model was exhibited at the Salon of 1873 entitled Chasse au faucon and the following year a bronze version was submitted. An immensely impressive group, examples are in the permenant collection of museums at Morlaix, Toulon and the Château de Compiègne. A silvered bronze version was exhibited at the 1900 Exposition Centennale de l'Art Français (no. 1735) while a cast with an ivory head, arms and legs was sold at Sotheby's New York on October 5, 2000, lot 198.
