Condition
Overall good restored condition; the mirror glass appears to be contemporary and possibly original and with areas of crystallization, minor pitting to silvering with small areas of restoration or inpainting to losses of silvering; re-gilt, possibly originally japanned; the backboard replaced; the cresting bowed slightly back with warpage; old glue repaired break to top right corner; upper left corner with a small hole to the frame; small loss to gesso of carving of upper right corner; the apron with an old repaired break to the bottom tip now reinforced with a batten to the backside and with an old repaired break to the scroll left of the central cresting with a similar batten to the backside; the backside of the mirror frame with a later wash; overall with wear, small losses and chips to the gilding and to the extremities of the carving.
