baluster bodies etched with ivy, the pierced collars chased with gothic foliage, matching knops, both covers engraved with two crests and one engraved below spout "Viro amato uxor anans / I.R. & F. H. Shaw / 1864"

The crests are those of John Ralph Shaw (1811-1884) of Arrow Park, co. Chester.

John Ralph Shaw was a Justice of the Peace, High Sheriff in 1864, Captain of the 1st Royal Lancashire Militia. He married in 1837 Fanny Harriet, 4th daughter of the Rev. William Cruttenden Cruttenden, M.A., rector for Alderby, Co. Chester.
