Catalogue Note
According to a letter accompanying this set, the first service of this pattern was made for the Maharaja of Jaipore [sic], who declined the coffee pot. The coffee pot was purchased in 1942 and the new owners had the other pieces made to match, entirely by hand, in the pattern of the original set.
