the frieze fitted with two sliding book stands above a pair of cupboard doors opening to five long drawers above a shelf, raised on casters.
Condition
Overall good restored condition; the three panel veneered top with shrinkage to panels and with infilling and a fillet between two panels with some inpainting; inpainted age cracks to center of top; left and right side panels with stress cracks above lines of construction and with inpainting and some lifting the veneers; back panel and moldding later probably to allow the cabinet to be free standing; small losses to the silk of the cupboard doors; the door knob with a later screw to the back and with a chip around its foot; the wooden molded edge to the front right door possibly later; the metal catch for the lock has been removed; overall with nicks, chips, scratches, bruises and restorations.
