A fine George III part-ebonized mahogany writing table circa 1800

Very good restored condition with a later finish; nice figuring to the veneers; good quality; mahogany-lined drawers; later handles; leather linings to the top replaced; the top with minor rippling; each book stand panel with shrinkage, the top edge of each with tears over lines of construction and now shifted due to shrinkage; small losses to molded edes around book stands; one long side with small loss to corner of molding above leg; one drawer with drawer bottom slightly loose from back panel; each drawer front with replaced sections to the ebonized stringing; the other long side with small chips to the veneer of the outside corners of the drawer slots; two small old chips to turning of one leg; one drawer bottom with large age crack the other with a mild age crack; one short side with a small replaced section to lower molded edge of frieze approximatey 3 inches in length; minor nicks and wear to the bottom molded edge of frieze; all drawer fronts with small patches where original handles were secured; overall with old marks, scratches, bruises, scuffs and nicks consistent with age and use.
