The colours in the catalogue illustrations are fairly accurate.
Condition:
The work is in good condition. There are horizontal stretcher bar marks running along the centre of the composition with associated thin cracks. There are further scattered hairline cracks in particular to the thickest areas of the impasto. The thicker orange brushstrokes appear to have craquelure's raised edges to the top third of the composition. Examination under ultra violet light reveals various small areas of retouching linked to the mentioned cracks, scattered throughout the composition.
