Provenance

Condition

Overall good original condition. The lacquered frame with scattered chips, surface scratches and areas of discoloration. Concentrated losses to the lacquer adjacent to the bronze sabots, as seen in the catalogue illustration. Each of the upper portion of the white lacquered chair frame with natural age separation to the seams that has also cracked the painted surface the entire four inch width of the frame. The upholstery with surface soiling, discoloration and considerable change in color across the chair. With isolated areas of discoloration to the proper right side panel. The original color of the upholstery was gray, which is visible once the cushions are removed. Proper right side shows closer to the original gray color of the upholstery. The decorative fabric border of the chair is yellow with minor fraying at the seams. In the catalogue illustration one part of this border appears slightly darker in color. This is simply a shadow and is not evident in the actual chair. Seat cushion is removable.
