Catalogue Note

Conceived and executed in terracotta in 1945. Cast in 1968 in an edition of four. This sculpture is the sketch-model for the larger, 17 inch long, Reclining figure 1946 (see Lund Humphries, op. cit., no.261, terracotta version, illustrated p.163).

This cast was examined and verified by David Mitchinson of The Henry Moore Foundation on 13 April 2004.
