one chute has been removed to reveal the mark ZJ from the bronze master model.

Condition

Overall in good condition with the usual minor scratches, dents and nicks to veneers and carcass consistent with age and use. Slight tarnishing to gilt-bronze in places. The marble with the usual minor scratches to marble top and some minor chips to marble edge. The upper part of the left hand side door has chips and dents in an area of approximately 3 inches long.

Catalogue Note

In 1900, Jean-Henri Jansen bought the Zwiener archives and rights creating Zwiener Jansen Successeur and incorporating it as a division of the Maison Jansen firm.  The bronze mounts made from this period were subsequently stamped  ZJ.
