A fine pair of gilt-bronze mounted labrador granite covered urns Paris, circa 1875

Overall in good original condition, the gilt-bronze mounts are finely cast and chased and with dirt and tarnishing to the gilding that could be cleaned; areas of minor oxidation to the bases and scrolled feet; when both lids are removed, there are small chips to the rims and to edges of granite covers.

The high quality casting and chasing of the gilt-bronze of the present urns suggest that it was executed by one of the leading Parisian bronziers of 19^th century, such as Maison Millet, Denière or Barbedienne.
