the dial signed L. MARCHAND/ A PARIS/RUE RICHELIEU 57 and all pieces with the H.PICARD stamp, the movement stamped V^{or DEWINT Her/A PARIS} and numbered 223.

Overall in its good original condition. Pendulum is available but there is no winding key. Three drip-pans are lacking in total. One scrolled foliate located to the back of one candlebranch is broken and lacking. All candlebranches to both candelabra will need to be tightened back. One flower-head cast bolt tightening one flower garland of the lower part of the clock case is lacking to the back left hand side. Tarnishing and dirt to all pieces, original gilding.

The Parisian fondeur and doreur Henri Picard was recorded at 6 rue Jarente in 1831, and move to 10 rue de la Perle in 1839. The firm supplied objects to Emperor Napoleon III's apartments at the Louvre, and was reputed for its fine quality decorative production of pièces de table and garnitures de cheminée.
