Extensive wear and oxidation to gilt-bronze acanthus cast handles. Extensive wear to the gilt highlight decoration, mostly to one side of the trumpeted foot. The raised gilt decoration is tarnished. The lid is a later molded earthenware replacement, not original to the piece. Although the vase has not been dismantled for inspection, the ceramic surface of the body seems to be backed by a solid material like plaster that could be the result of a restoration.
