General oxidation marks to the ormolu case with some rubbing to the gilding to the top and areas of the front. Rubbing to the patina in areas, particularly to the arms of Cupid and the figure. Minor chips to the edges and corners of the marble pedestal. Some rubbbing to the ormolu. The mounts with traces of oxidation. Further rubbing and minor losses to gilding along the base and feet. The back with significant oxidation to the case, bronze figures and the base, which would benefit from some light cleaning. General surface dirt to the interior; overall in good condition. Chip to back left corner of rouge griotte marble base. One pedulum, no keys. Lacking glass to door of movement. Some bronzes in need of tightening.

Louis Stanislas Lenoir-Ravrio (1783-1846) was possibly the adopted son of the great Bronzier André-Antoine Ravrio, 1759-1814 who produced mounts for Benneman before the Revolution and furnished considerable numbers of wall-lights and candelabra etc., for most of the Imperial residences.
