Condition
Original canvas. There are scattered spots of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably to the centre of the right side and along the waist of the left-hand figure. Apart from a few repairs along the upper edge (patched on the reverse) and scattered areas of craquelure, this work is in good condition, with a strong surface and rich colours. Held in a decorative, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame.
