Unexamined out of frame and under glass, the canvas has been re-lined. There are a few scattered areas of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably along the left side of the upper edge, and scattered flecks of inpainting to the darker areas of the composition. Apart from two very minor flecks of paint loss to the upper right and upper left corners, and some very fine scattered craquelure, this work is in very good condition, with rich colours and fine detail, and ready to hang. Held in a decorative, gilt, moulded plaster and wood frame, under glass.
