Provenance
Cinclare Plantation, Brusly, Louisiana (acquired by the parents of the present owner of the plantation on their European grand tour circa 1930)
Condition
i.)
Original canvas. There are a few minor flecks of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, at the lower centre. There is some discolouration of the varnish, stretcher marks to the edges of the canvas and scattered fine surface dirt and craquelure. Held in a decorative, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame.
ii.)
Original canvas. There are a few minor flecks of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, at the lower left. There is some discolouration of the varnish, stretcher marks to the edges of the canvas, light frame rubbing along the lower edge and upper left corner, a light scratch to the centre of the right side and scattered fine surface dirt and craquelure. Held in a decorative, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame.
