Condition

Apart from some slight bowing at the centre of the lower edge (concave), the panel is in very good condition, flat and even. There are scattered flecks of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably to the cassock of the figure, and to the upper and lower right corners, partially obscured by a varnish. Apart from a few flecks of surface dirt, this work is in overall very good condition, with fine detail and fresh colours, and ready to hang. Held in a decorative, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame with a cream linen slip.
