Condition

The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This painting is in beautiful condition. The canvas has never been lined or removed from its original stretcher. The only slight blemish is in the upper right quadrant where a scrape across the reverse of the canvas has left a very slight mark to the surface; this could be corrected if the canvas were to be lined. The remainder of the picture, including the effect of the fog, seems to be in beautiful state and there are no other restorations. The scratch mentioned above could be attended to, or the picture could be hung as is.
"This lot is offered for sale subject to Sotheby's Conditions of Business, which are available on request and printed in Sotheby's sale catalogues.
