Overall the condition of the marble is very good. There is some minor wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are a few faint black veins and minor inclusions consistent with material. There are a few minor chips to the edge of the base.

A large marble version of this model was presented at the Salon in 1899, which is now in the collection of the Musée des Beaux Arts et d'Historie, Troyes.
