Catalogue Note
Seago painted this winter view of the Thames from the roof of a building at Lancaster Place overlooking Waterloo Bridge on the north bank of Victoria Embankment. The view is looking beyond the busy traffic of Waterloo Bridge eastward to St Pauls Cathedral and Blackfriars Bridge and the towers of the City beyond. The red of the Routemaster bus heading across the bridge to Southwark, adds a note of colour to an otherwise reserved palette of cool greys and creams.
