Condition

STRUCTURE The board is sound and has not warped. The colours are bright and the paint surface appears to be clean throughout. There are no signs of craquelure and the paint surface is stable. This picture is ready to hang. UNDER ULTRA VIOLET LIGHT There are a few very minor areas of flecked retouching in the background and to the flag. There is an area of cosmetic retouching to the girl's face. These are not extensive. There is an uneven varnish under UV and there are signs that a liquid has run down the paint surface- this is not visible to the naked eye. FRAME The picture is contained in a decorative plastic gilt moulded frame in good condition.
