Description

with a shaped line inlaid cornice above a narrow frieze above two doors each cross banded and with figured quartered veneers enclosing oval recessed figured panels within cross banded borders, opening to three short and four long graduated drawers, the slightly projecting base fitted with a secretaire drawer cross banded and veneered as two drawers, the fall front with a baize-lined writing surface and a fitted interior with pigeon holes and small drawers, above a single long drawer, supported on square tapered legs headed by inlaid tablets with re-entrant corners and with line inlays, the sides similarly veneered with quartered veneers enclosing rectangular line inlaid panels.
Condition
Overall good restored condition, right cupboard door with repair to top hinge and with slight warpage, finials lacking, some minor age cracks to side panels with some slight rippling to veneers of side panels of lower section, some small chips and patches to veneers, later baize-lined writing surface to secretaire drawer with some wear and holes, overall with some old marks, scratches, scuffs and bruises.
