A FINE PAIR OF GEORGE III MARQUETRY INLAID SATINWOOD GAMES TABLES circa 1770

each hinged demilune tulipwood cross banded and line inlaid top veneered in figured satinwood inlaid at the centre with a fan medallion radiating from a stylized flower head half patera above a Neoclassical two handled urn with a flower spray finial and supporting swags of ribbon tied summer flowers, opening to a baize-lined playing surface, the conforming frieze similarly cross banded and centered by a raised cross banded tablet inlaid with a ram's mask  and with swags of drapery, the square tapered legs headed by legs inlaid with blind fluting, and with line inlay and supported on tapered spade toes.

Good restored condition, the first with some minor chips to cross-banding, top of back right leg showing tenon of back rail support, the other with small inpainted area to top, small age crack to top of back left leg at join with back rail support with some minor old worm, front left leg now with screw to reverse at join with frieze, chips to veneers of toes, each with later baize-lined tops, some old marks, scratches, scuffs and bruises and minor chips to veneers.
